Starting Software Product Lines
Software Product Lines are typically started as follows:
- Assess the current state - What products are currently developed? What resources are available? What pressures exist on the organisation? What products would the organisation like to develop? etc.
- Run a short evaluation project - Build confidence in the Software Product Lines approach. If this project produces real software that has a life beyond the project, then so much the better. We offer free downloads of pure::variants for evaluation purposes.

- Create reusable software - Develop or buy reusable software components, develop or buy tools to support the production process.
- Build Products - Build products from your resuable software. As your base of reusable software and your production capability grows, new products will be developed more quickly and more reliably.
