openArchitectureWare Power WorkshopopenArchitectureWare Power Workshops are designed for developers and architects who wish to move from simply modelling software to model-driven software development (MDSD). During the 3 day workshop, the concepts and theories of model-driven software development are explained using the openArchitectureWare (oAW) open-source MDSD Framework. The workshop is hands-on with a strong focus on acquiring practical experience of the various toolsets used. Participants begin by learning how to install and use the framework and how model-driven software development is integrated into the development life cycle. In a series of step-by-step practical exercises the logical and technical infrastructure of an MDSD project is then developed. The whole project is created and runs on participants' own laptops and so can be taken away for further development and learning. "The combination of didactic expertise and rich experience with model-driven techniques makes Karsten a perfect Trainer." Klaus Krogmann - Institute for Program Structures and Data Organization. Course Programme The workshop covers:
Course Prerequisites Knowledge and experience with the Java programming language is assumed. Participants should have some basic understanding of software modelling e.g. through use of UML. Some experience of the Eclipse IDE is helpful but is not essential. Participants should bring a laptop computer (Windows / Mac / Linux), with minimum 300 MB HD space & 1 GB RAM. We can provide this at additional cost. Is this course for you? Model-driven software development has been described as the next evolutionary step in software development. This course is for developers who wish to understand how to be successful with model-driven software development techniques in the workplace.
